Carmen Lezeth · All About The Joy - Carmen Lezeth

This week on Culture & Consequence, Andrea and I take a ride through one of the wildest cultural weeks we’ve had in a long time. We start with pure joy — the Knicks’ long‑awaited win, the World Cup energy, and the absolutely stunning fashion moments coming out of the DRC and Ivory Coast. Yes, we talk sports. Yes, we talk fashion. And yes, we talk about the very beautiful men of football. It’s a whole vibe.

But then we shift into something deeper.

With Juneteenth here, we dig into the real history behind the holiday — what it commemorates, why it matters, and why it belongs to all Americans. And from there, we move into the conversation so many people still avoid: racism, the narratives we inherit, and the harm that continues when we refuse to face the truth.

We also break down the recent UFC incident at the White House and the disgusting attack on Michelle Obama — not just as a political moment, but as part of a long, racist history of dehumanizing Black women. It’s a tough conversation, but a necessary one.

This episode is joy, honesty, frustration, laughter, and truth — exactly what Culture & Consequence is meant to be.

If this episode brought you a little joy, consider liking, subscribing, or sharing it with someone who might need it.

As always, remember it really is All About The Joy.

Until next time,

Carmen
