Good morning from my bed – I will not type about how this is the first morning in what feels like months where I made a chai and crawled back into my own bed while the littles were still asleep; nope I will not type that because if I put that online, they’ll start waking up at 5:30 a.m. every day.

There are a few defining moments in my life where you see the other side of things and then just want to go back and give some people a hug and tell them that you didn’t know how hard that was. For me, those include:

  • Entering the school-age era and realizing that it’s even harder to be a working parent—with later start times, earlier pickups and extracurricular activities that start at 3:45 p.m. on a Tuesday.

  • Owning a home and realizing you’re also responsible for the yard

    • When I see friends or neighbors working on their yard, I just want to shout, “You’re doing amazing, sweetie! I notice your hard work!!!”

  • Attempting to iron on Girl Scout badges

    • This shit was not in any parenting books

Story time: I still remember when we were getting our floors refinished in Wisconsin in 2018, and the team asked me if I had a broom. I stared at them feeling like I was not a real adult since I didn’t own a broom and offered them a vacuum instead and slowly walked away. In that moment I told myself I needed to own a broom. And now here we are eight. years. later. I freaking love my broom.

  • What are our six & seven year olds wearing for shoes this summer? Is the answer still Crocs?? Is there anything else? And yes I love Native’s but my kids will always pick their Crocs over Natives.

  • How are we selling clothes these days?? Poshmark?? In FB groups?

Drop a comment so others can chime in! I envision this as a group of girlfriends out to dinner having at least four different convos as once

  • I shared on my Instagram Stories the other day that I’m working with Shopbop (!!!) this year. You sent the kindest DMs and your support means so much.

  • I started to use ShopMy instead of LTK last year. I find it to be much, much more user friendly, and it’s brought some fun new opportunities my way. I’m eagerly awaiting some of J.Crew’s new arrivals that they gifted like this tunic dress, denim dress, linen dress and a few more pieces.

  • I share to be transparent in the influencer partnership space, especially since I put together global influencer marketing strategies as my day job. These opportunities have given me a creative spark and came at the perfect time as I’m feeling much more in tune with my personal style these days.

As I finish editing this, the kids are up and I really need to try to get these Girl Scout badges on before a cookie booth today.

Chat soon!

x, Carly
