Social Media has a lot of power and influence on today’s society.

Social Media has a lot of power and influence on today’s society. It has the power to make people feel less alone, lift their spirits, and spark a creative interest that they may not have explored. For me, it has become a real-life full color extravaganza of what is constantly going on in my head, which as it turns out, is something people enjoy watching!

My followers’ ages range from people in their teens to their 60s. I am thankful to have a broad demographic that can implement a styling tip as a life lesson from just watching my videos. Nothing makes me happier than when I get a comment from someone that says “I turned my mom onto you and now we watch together” I love how families share me.

I try to teach fashion in a way that resonates with you, no matter your age, size, or gender. Fashion goes so much further than just the clothes you wear. It’s about sitting well in your skin and feeling good every single day. It’s about experimenting and finding your own unique individual style. It’s about life lessons and the takeaways. There is no right or wrong way to style. If you feel comfortable, that is all that matters.

Women have so much pressure throughout their lives. When we are young, girls are taught that their self-worth depends on their image. Social media bombards young women with over sexualized images, when they might not be ready to embrace their sexuality. Imagine always having that pressure in the palm of your hand?

And then there are the more mature women, my compatriots who thank me for giving them permission to follow their gut. To wear what they like rather than the trends going down the runway. At the end of the day, if you don’t feel comfortable in your own clothes, they are going to wear you. You will become solely a hanger. I believe a woman can only truly be stylish if she’s feeding her soul by choosing clothes that she feels comfortable and happy in.

It is important for me to have my voice heard because you never know who it may reach, and who it may impact. The more mature women like me, out there on social media, being confident in what they do and being real about it, the more it gives other women permission to express their forte in their own way. It allows the young girls to see that there is life after 25 and that they don’t have to be afraid of aging. I would never trade my years of experience or insight for my 20-year-old posterior.

When I film my videos, I try to make them happy, creative, and inclusive so that everybody feels comfortable. I do get a lot of comments from my younger audience that says I am their “safe place”. People love to be entertained, and I love comedy. Everybody has their talents and mine just happens to be style, but don’t ask me to cook for a dinner party (LOL)!
