Na’im Merchant · The Carbon Curve

My long-held view is that gigatonne-scale carbon removal requires global collaboration and a proven blueprint for deployment, and Canada is where that blueprint is being built. That is why I am inviting you to Ottawa this March for Carbon Removal Day 2026.

As we move from the “why” of carbon removal to the “how” of massive commercial deployment, Canada is rapidly becoming the testing ground for the policies, partnerships, and projects that will define the next decade of our industry. This year’s theme, Building a Billion-Tonne Blueprint, focuses on the universal challenges of scaling: actionable policy, industry partnerships, and getting steel in the ground.

Whether you are an investor looking for the next breakthrough, a policymaker shaping frameworks, or a developer getting shovels in the ground, this is the room you need to be in.

Why You Should Attend

Carbon Removal Day has become a strategic convening of the people who can actually move the needle. Based on our past attendance, you will be joining a curated group of 250 leaders, including a mix of government officials (~25%), carbon removal companies (~25%), and key players from finance, industry, academia, and civil society.

We are at a global pivot point where we must transition from pilot projects to large deployments. Carbon Removal Day 2026 is designed to help us bridge that gap by exploring four critical questions:

  • Execution: How are we getting shovels, and carbon, into the ground?

  • Collaboration: What industrial partnerships are working, and how do we do more?

  • Global Context: What can we learn from other countries to accelerate the sector

  • Subnational Policy: What role are municipalities and provinces playing to drive local adoption?

Canada is setting up to be a leading global carbon removal powerhouse and an international destination for new projects. If you are looking to understand where the market is going, you need to see what is happening here firsthand.

Right now, registration is completely free, so reserve your spot now.
