The support, the magnificence of knowing other writers will catch you and never let you fall - and realizing, finally, that you don’t have to treat creativity like a competition. There’s a healthy “damn!” feeling when someone’s work floors you, and you want to write beyond what you ever thought you could. That’s been my experience.
