It’s Memorial Day weekend so everyone should be taking it easy.
I’m aware of the tenderness I need to receive more of today.
How fragile I feel today and how that’s okay.
I want to say more, but I’m at a pit stop on the way back home.
I think the best way I know how to cultivate more softness and openness in my life is to allow myself to exist in the mess for a minute.
Mess being spilled paint instead of a million broken pieces of glass I keep trying to gorilla glue back together.
The best part about a blank canvas or blank sheet of paper is that you get to create.
You get to pick up the pen. You get to put your fingers in paint. You get to play. You get to choose. All of that magic comes from something you’re still moving through from both the positive and the uncomfortable experiences.
Pick up the clay and make a mold out of all the pain that made you hard to begin with.
Here are the songs that give me permission to be less resistant to the path of self love and surrender. They give me permission to be easy on myself— a kind reminder that I am always becoming who I want to be and that takes time.
Be gentle today. Create today.
Not because you have to just because it’s easy to do so.
Enjoy.
