For the love of dad rock 🤠🎧

For the daddy’s!

Or at least for the people that Spotify aassumes are daddy’s.

I’m missing Texas these days. I’m missing the south the tiniest bit. The hills and the grass and the comfort food and the sayings— not so much the politics and ignorance and religion and pop country.

This isn’t really a southern rock playlist, but it still categorizes as dad rock— I wouldn’t consider The Police or Supertramp as dad rock though — I got introduced to those by my mom, but everything else— yeah— dad rock.

The track I left out because I don’t listen to it often, but worth a mention — Jackie Blue by The Ozark Mountain Daredevils.

I worked for Supe and Julie Granda at their coffee shop in The Nashville Farmers Market back in 2017.

In a full circle moment — they visited my coffee cart last summer— an unexpected run in. We hadn’t seen each other in years.

They’re still some of the kindest people I’ve ever met.

Supe is a typical dad and granddad. He loves to talk about his rock and roll days. They still tour and play shows some. They traveled with The Grateful Dead— I’m sure they have stories I’ve never asked about.

It’s my favorite fun fact being from Nashville.

I know and am cherished by one of the greatest dad rockers.
