Visiting Syros this summer! The island is alive and absolutely magical this time of year. If you’re looking to immerse yourself in the culture, here are the events you can look forward to this week and beyond.

📍 Miaouli Square, Ermoupoli

One of Greece’s most popular contemporary laïko (Greek folk-pop) singers is performing a free outdoor concert as part of the celebrations for 200 years of Ermoupoli.

Cost: Free

Tickets: None required—just arrive early, as the square will likely fill up.

Good to know

  • Roads around Miaouli Square will close from 9:00 PM–Midnight

  • Buses and taxis will use temporary routes during the concert.

  • 🥤 There is a concession stand where you can buy popcorn, drinks, and snacks.

An evening celebrating the release of the local musician’s newest album in one of Syros’ beautiful historic venues

One of the most authentic local events of the summer.

Expect:

Hosted by the local community and athletic club, this is a true panigiri (Greek village festival), not a tourist performance.

Tickets: None—just come, grab a table if available, and order food and drinks from the community stalls.

Explore another side of the island during this annual trail-running event featuring routes through Syros’ hills, villages, and coastline. Spectators are welcome too!
