Happy March,

Did you know you could eat a different cheese every day in France for a year and not have tasted them all? De Gaulle once famously said “How can anyone govern a nation that has two hundred and forty-six different kinds of cheese?” Actually, there are more than 1,000 kinds of cheese in France!

I’ve just spent a weekend at Left Coast Crime here in San Francisco - a lovely conference for writers, readers and full of panels. Huguette was nominated for Best Historical fiction and my publisher, Soho Press, took all of us writers out to dinner.

I found this Paris post war photo and it reminded me of Huguette. Notice the bullet holes in the glass and her look - what is she thinking?

Meg and I are gearing up for our April in Paris trip which sold out. DUE TO HIGH INTEREST, WE’RE EXPLORING ANOTHER TRIP IN OCTOBER.
If you’re interested in Paris in October, please drop a line to whalenmj55@gmail.com.

Meanwhile, I’m on deadline for the next Aimée Leduc book. It’s due like tomorrow!!!

So I’ll just list my new events in March and April which we’ll update on the website soon with details
