Free the Crew of the Bandero and Stop the Slaughter of the Fin Whales

The Bandero is being held captive by two criminal whaling countries.

I don’t think there can be a more appropriate image to illustrate the cruel power of these two notorious whaling nations.

The Icelandic Coast Guard and two Japanese warships have the Bandero captive with the bow of the two Japanese ships pointed directly at the Bandero.

Both Japan and Iceland are in violation of the International Whaling Commission’s Global Moratorium on commercial whaling. This was upheld in 2014 by the International Court of Justice in The Hague.

The objective of our campaign Operation 86 is to focus international attention on the continued illegal actions of Kristjian Loftsson and his unlawful pursuit of protected Fin whales, the 2nd largest cetacean species on the planet.

Engaging the whalers at sea was extremely difficult because of the defense of these criminal whaling operations by the Icelandic Coast Guard.

Having the ship boarded and detained and appropriately hemmed in by both the Japanese navy and the Icelandic Coast Guard is perfect symbolism for the corruption of power we are challenging.

For half a century we have been upholding international conservation law with causing a single injury. This confrontation with the Icelandic Coast Guard and the whalers did not injure anyone nor did it cause any physical property damage. The Bandero was boarded in international waters by an armed boarding party of masked individuals. The crew are being held captive onboard the Bandero under armed guard.

This is about whaling, illegal whaling,o and one man’s cruel obsession to slaughter one of the most magnificent species of whales on the planet.

The malignant evil we are opposing can be witnessed in the images of fetuses being violently ripped from the bellies of pregnant mothers, of insensitive whalers jerking a penis bigger then themselves in some sort of perverse display of arrogance and by the scarlet river of blood flooding the concrete platform where the viciously slain beautiful bodies of these self aware intelligent sentient beings are being mutilated for no economic or rational reason.

Why is Iceland defending Kristjian Loftsson, this deranged individual.? Why is Iceland openly displaying contempt for international conservation law?

On the positive side, Iceland has given us a public forum to expose their shameful operations. We will rally for our crew internationally. We will appeal to people around the world to support the courage and commitment of people who risk so much to protect and defend our fellow citizens in the Ocean.

I am apealing to the hundreds of thousands of people who defended me during my five months of detainment in a Greenland prison in 2024. The Japanese failed to extradite me because of that support. We now need to direct our collective efforts to freeing our brave crew. They are ocean heroes each and every one, people who stood for something greater than themselves against a sadistic old man who seems to have a grip on some influential politicians in Iceland that are happy to do his bidding.
