Winter Mix

Hi,

As winter closes, I have a new mix for the series, this time by me. A collection of solo instrumental pieces for piano, guitar, viola da gamba, flute, double bass, and cello, with sonic dust around the margins, things blowing around on the first warm breeze. A spiritual sibling to my ‘spinning’ mix for foil from 3 years ago… music written with invisible language, suspended, twirling and clear. The artwork is done by friend Rose Khoury (figleafdevotion/rosekhoury_tattoo on instagram). A beautiful piece I’m grateful to include in the growing collection of visual art this series has been able to encompass.

Another update, I made a series I’m calling Grass for Liza Pittard’s Pasta Methodologies course at Ours in Richmond, in collaboration with the ICA. They’ll be burned during the 3 sold out classes. Also this month I’ve had work available at Sneed’s Nursery as their featured artist for March. There’s a few days left if you want to swing by and check it out. I have a show coming up in April, more details about that sooooon, but in the meantime I’m working on new forms, continuing to explore color and texture.

I want to give a special shout out to Liza for debuting her new perfume Cup, a gorgeous mix of green mandarin, pink peppercorn, galbanum, spiced tea, black spruce, fir needle, and incense. Honestly this is my new every day scent I can’t recommend it enough! It will probably sell out so act quick.
