Hellooo and happy Friday. Summer always flies by, but I truly cannot believe tomorrow is August. I said the end of this pregnancy was going to go by quickly because it was during the summer and boy I wasn’t kidding. I’m kind of shook that I have just over 8 weeks left?? It feels like forever and also tomorrow. This summer feels like it has been the most time we’ve ever spent as a family on the beach and I feel so grateful to have these opportunities and for my little beach boys. August, I know, will be quite a whirlwind with this home renovation project and the nesting that needs to be done to prep for this baby, but I am also going to try to soak in as much time as possible in our last moments of a family of four.
Here’s what I’ve been up to the past two weeks…
What I’m Listening to:
As a friend of Les Alfred’s, I absolutely love her show She’s so Lucky, and this episode is no exception! I’ve been in awe of Recho Omondi’s Cutting Room Floor for awhile now, so I absolutely loved this episode and learning more about the back-end business
There have also been a ton of great Conversations with Cam episodes that have released since the last time I wrote you all! We tried to focus on female’s health & fertility for the month of July and included a bunch of different sides/stories. If you click any of the thumbnails below the episodes will automatically play. I hope you enjoy!
What I’m Watching:
The Five Star Weekend on Peacock - this wasn’t a “must watch” in my opinion, but it was a quick mini-series that is easy to throw on and enjoy. Food content creator, Hollis, loses her husband and invites her 4 friends (“stars”) from different stages of her life to her house in Nantucket for the weekend. The house is impeccable and the main thing I was focused on, if being honest, but a lot of drama unfolds as they navigate their adult lives and friendships
Love Island UK - if you didn’t watch this season, might I highly recommend as a binge!!! I have only watched a few seasons of LI (solely UK), but this one was so great in my opinion
What I’m Reading:
Dolly All the Time - I desperately needed a break from my hockey smut, and this one had been all over my feed lately. It was very Emily-Henry-romance-esque in the sense that there wasn’t any smut, but it was a romance novel. A story of a forced relationship turned real feelings between two people who typically would’ve never been paired together. I do love that it is age-appropriate in the sense that the characters are in their late 30/40s (I forget exact age) so feel more relatable (fuck I’m old…)
What I’m Wearing:
Shell/pearl necklace combo - I have been loving “summer” jewelry and think this combo is so cute from a standpoint of choker and longer necklace. Plus, they both come together for under $80!
White bucket hat - I feel like I’ve mentioned on here a lot by now that I am very serious about sun protection this summer, and I recently added (and love!!) this hat to my rotation. I got it in white, but it comes in a ton of colorways
Archies - I heard incredible things about these flip flops and their arch support and I am an absolute sucker for them now. I legitimately am in them 24/7. I have the brown, navy, and light blue and they are the most comfortable flip flop I’ve ever worn and a new summer staple in my wardrobe
Aerie haul - I recently wanted to feel something and really missed the idea of putting on clothes that I felt comfortable in and loved and actually fit me, so I did a mini Aerie haul thinking I’d return half of it but I ended up loving them all - especially these pants (I wore to Mahjong and everyone wanted the link) and these sweat shorts
What I’m Loving:
My “Worth It Or Not - Reviewing Baby Items as a Soon-to-be Third Time Mom” series! I’ve been having so much fun recording these and you all are loving them!! It’s not letting my embed right now, so please use these links to watch!!
Quiet Your Mind & Busy Your Hands WTF is Happening to my Body edition - I know I mentioned this above, but I am so over the moon about and proud of this product!! If you are pregnant or have a pregnant person in your life, this is the perfect gift!
What the Boys are Loving:
Kanes - we recently switched over to these for our water shoes after hearing my friend rave about them and I love them so much. We were formally a natives family, but I like these a lot more
Baby registry items - I don’t know if this qualifies as something the “boys” are loving, but it is kid applicable so I’m putting it here. I have gotten so many requests for assistance when it comes to baby registries, so I created this master list of everything and anything you could possibly want to register for. If you’re a first time mom, I hope you find this helpful!
Surfer dude toy - if you have kids who spend time at the beach, I truly cannot recommend this toy enough. The boys spent a literal hour just throwing it into the ocean and waiting for the waves to bring it back. They were so excited every time (as if it hadn’t happened the 50 times before) and kept them beyond occupied and engaged
How I’m Filling my Cup: I’ve been leaning hard into self-care during the end of this pregnancy so that my body feels slightly better. Between pelvic floor PT, acupuncture, lymphatic drainage massages, workout classes, and facials, I have really been trying to stay consistent with my appointments so that I can feel my best. It is such a privilege to be able to do this and I’ve realized it has really made a difference in how my body feels.
My Rose / Bud / Thorn
Thorn - this construction project just feels like we are continuously hitting hiccups and is testing my patience in ways I never could’ve imagined. If 2018 Cammie could see me now she’d be in AWE
Rose - watching my boys love the beach and their family so much. We’ve been with their cousins on both sides these past few weeks and I love watching that cousin bond that is so important in my life translate also to theirs
Bud - I am getting so excited to meet this baby. The end feels actually close and I’m realizing there is a real live human on the other side of this that I get to meet and bond with and spend the rest of my life loving and I cannot wait!!
