Last month, I wrote a story for my paid subscribers over on my secret not-so-secret stack, Getting Close.
This story, Hands On, was a rather spicy second part of a 3-part story about a couple of recurring characters I use there, Matthew and Nikki.
Let’s just say I got inspired…
Hands On
She walks in drippin’ wildfire, velvet grin on ruby lips
Room goes sepia-slow-motion when her fingertips find my hips
Heartbeat’s breaking curfew, knocking pictures off the wall
She whispers, “Are you ready?” I forget my name and fall
Every breath is gasoline, every sigh a struck-flint spark
Two silhouettes in stereo, rewriting midnight in the dark
Hands on, lights gone, bodies talking all night long
Sweat beats, back seats, vinyl sticking to the heat
Turn it up, burn it up, babe we’re hotter than the sun
Hands on, lights gone, no one does what your hands on mine have done
Neon sweat on cinnamon skin, you bend like a vinyl groove
I’m tracing that bassline curve while you teach the ceiling to move
Your laugh tastes like top-shelf sin, honey-laced and hurricane strong
The radio stutters… can’t keep up, while we crank this wicked song
Every look is overdrive, every kiss a smoking gun
If loving you’s a crime tonight, call the cops when we are done
Hands on, lights gone, bodies talking all night long
Sweat beats, back seats, vinyl sticking to the heat
Turn it up, burn it up, babe we’re hotter than the sun
Hands on, lights gone, no one does what your hands on mine have done
Dimmer switch dizzy, spinning like a 45
We’re breaking every meter, red-lining every vibe
Let the neighbors make a mixtape of the thunder in our lungs
‘Cause baby when you’re this close, the universe comes undone
Hands on, lights gone, let the city melt away
Voices stuck on replay, bodies set to foreplay
Hands on, lights gone, turn the fire all the way on
Your time, hop on, turn the fire all the way on
