Before I get into this month’s post, I wanted to be sure you know about two upcoming events in November.
I’ll be joining four other writers in an evening of short readings that touch on grief. This event is part of the Coffee & Grief community, but is open to all. Just log on to the link below at the time of the event.
Join Katherine Spearing and me for a conversation about spiritual abuse, religious trauma, and how we heal from the wounds that church can cause. We will share our similar experiences in the Christian patriarchy movement and the evangelical church and how we broke free from high-control religion and found both healing and empowerment.
Our books will be available for purchase and signing after the talk.
NOTE: We will be hosting a little gathering at a close-by bar/restaurant after the event for those who want to continue the discussion and make community connections.
Find the Facebook event here.
See you soon!
Isn’t there a saying about how travel teaches us more about ourselves than the places we go? Or is it that no matter where we go, we bring our “issues” with us? There is no escaping I, no matter how many thousands of miles we travel.
