Introduction to Romance Author Adventures

I’ll start with an apology.

I am Canadian. We are famous for our apologies. However, I think one is warranted here.

I am sorry, I am no expert. After publishing 4 books, I have a dash of knowledge about the indie publishing industry, combined with a scoop of opinion. In this Substack, I will offer tactical indie publishing advice, insights on the romance genre, and give updates about my own author journey. I would love for you to join me on this new adventure.

I’m Cayley, and I write historical romance. Specifically, steamy medieval romance for readers who love slow-burn tension, fierce heroines, and the rugged men who would choose them over everything.

My Saxons of Hyrstow series is packed with adventure, lust, political division, yearning, and love, all set in the difficult period of the Middle Ages. I’ve also dipped my toes into what is considered “new historical” with my early 2000s holiday novella, Shred the Season.

Most importantly, I am a mom of three, I run a successful business with my husband, and I have a rescue dog named Sassy. She rules our world, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
