This was the first song that Junia and I made together. This one doesn’t really have a big concept, it was just a vibe. I think that my last album was so conceptual that I wanted to just show up and rap over some beats again. There are some autobiographical elements in here: sobriety, therapy, family, etc.
Forager is definitely the most soulful album I’ve ever made. James is someone I’ve worked with a lot in recent years. He has a wonderful spirit. He really brought the D’Angelo energy that this song needed.
