Today, we introduce the question of whether our stories have the capacity to heal the ruptures in our families and in our identities. Our podcast of the week, “Healing the Asian American Family,” focuses on the stories that are often left unspoken within families: stories of migration, sacrifice, trauma, and emotional silence that continue to shape our familial relationships. In this week’s article, Caroline Lancaster explores the complexities that comprise the South Asian identity. Lancaster challenges the dualistic narrative that Asian Americans must choose whether to assimilate or to preserve culture. Writing the Story of South Asian American Christianity

For a racial heritage predominantly associated with Hinduism and Islam, South Asian American Christians sit at the intersection of minoritization and privilege. In South Asia, Christians are the minority religion, but in the United States, Christians are part of the dominant culture.

You are warmly invited to attend the 2026 Our Story, Our Faith (OSOF) Conference: Burma Christian Diaspora in Indianapolis: Celebrating Our Stories, Embracing Our Challenges—an in-person and online gathering centering the faith and life of the Burma Christian diaspora.
