Jesus is the Good Shepherd: do you know him?

Formation isn't the goal because God simply wants Christians to level up. Formation is the goal because the world needs to see Christ.

Thoughts and insights about the ONLY Jesus series so far...

Matthew 8 & 9

What does it mean to "wrestle with faith" part 2

What does it mean to "wrestle with faith" part 1

Who or what sits on the throne of our hearts? Jesus wants our whole hearts—not part of them, but all of them.

-

The price and value of salvation.

Am I becoming more like Christ or just more familiar with Christianity?

Main message is presented by Pastor Stephen Lott. The testimony is given by Christian Parkes.

True fruitfulness is not that our hands become fuller with things but that our hearts become fuller with love.

Jesus takes the condition of our heart seriously, perhaps more seriously than we do.

-

Let's make space for prayer and not allow disappointment to silence us or distraction to sideline us.

-

Let he who is without sin throw the first stone

"For God so loved the world..." is not just a promise for eternity with God, it's also about a power for everyday with God.

If we want Jesus' help but not His lordship, we're treating Him like magic, not majesty.

What does it look like to seek God's kingdom and His righteousness?

The life Jesus offers is free and light, but it isn't easy

The true test of Christian love is not how we treat those who love us but how we treat those who don't.

The hope of this world is not better politics, more technology, or stronger institutions - it is ordinary Christians who refuse to lose their saltiness and refuse to hide their light.

The blessed life is not found in chasing comfort or success, but in surrendering to Jesus so completely that His life begins to grow in us - root, trunk, branch and fruit - until even our suffering becomes part of His glory.

Forgiveness is central to our Christian faith. God calls us to show forgiveness to others just as He has shown forgiveness to us.

Who Is Jesus? Why Did Jesus Come To Earth? What Did He Accomplish? What Does This Mean For Us?

Mattew 2:10-11 When they saw the star, they were filled with joy! They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

John 5:39 NKJV You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.

Matthew 9:9 As Jesus went from there, He saw a man called Matthew. Matthew was sitting at his work gathering taxes. Jesus said to him, “Follow Me.” Matthew got up and followed Jesus.

Genesis 2:2-3 NIVBy the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

Isaiah 58:13-14“If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath and from doing as you please on my holy day, if you call the Sabbath a delight and the Lord’s holy day honorable, and if you honor it by not going your own way and not doing as you please or speaking idle words, then you will find your joy in the Lord, and I will cause you to ride in triumph on the heights of the land and to feast on…

We are not slaves anymore

Matthew 11:28-30 Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Titus 2:11-12 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age.

“The word of the Lord came to Jonah son of Amittai: “Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me.” But Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord.” Jonah 1:1-3 NIV

"Dear Friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God's holy people." Jude 1:3 NIV
