"bird," "tart," "slag," ,"Karen" and whatever comes next

I was scrolling on Tiktok when I came across a video, I can’t even remember what the video was about, I had became distracted by the comments ‘she is such a Bird’.

Bird? I thought to myself. The only definition that I knew of the word was either a feathered animal or the slightly bizarre way some men have used it as a term of endearment for their girlfriends. So I did what any chronically online person would and went down a rabbit hole.

It didn't take long to realise that bird had taken on an entirely new meaning. It had became yet another label for a particular type of woman. One who is supposedly desperate for male attention, embarrassingly obsessed with men or willing to throw other women under the bus in the pursuit of being chosen.

And almost instantly, I found myself thinking the same thing I always do whenever a new word for women starts trending: here we go again.
