Women Online Are Talking About The One Thing That Could Be The “Revolution” We’ve All Been Waiting For, And, Wow, This Is Actually Such An Important Conversation

“If we can help the next generation find their voice and not suffer, it’s a good start!”

A while ago, we wrote about this TikToker's viral video in which she implied you could "lose" your labia during menopause.

It's this phenomenon called vaginal atrophy, and it can be caused by a significant loss of estrogen, which is a common occurrence during menopause. It's easily treatable via HRT and the use of estrogen creams.

But, there's this one thing Verna Lamb, who originally posted the video about vaginal atrophy, said to me about menopause that I haven't stopped thinking about since: "I feel like our doctors and medical professionals should be preparing us for this stage of our lives. They told us about puberty. Why aren't we being prepared for menopause?"

Which is so true! Conversations about reproductive health seem to start and stop with menstruation and pregnancy. But, on Threads, discourse is flowing about all things menopause and perimenopause, thanks to a viral post by @peoplesoracle. They wrote, "Elder millennials and Gen X going through menopause and perimenopause might actually be the matriarchal revolution we've been waiting for."

That post put out the bat signal in a big way because the replies are filled with elder millennials and Gen X'ers who are getting super real. They're sharing how menopause and perimenopause are impacting them, things they wish earlier generations had taught them, and how they feel about this incoming "matriarchal revolution." Here are some of the responses:
