Today we’re showcasing romantic fantasy and fantasy romance author Cara Blaine!

I’ve wanted to be an author since I learned how to write. I adored books as a child and started writing stories in second grade. I studied creative writing (alongside psychology) for my Bachelor’s, focusing on short stories and poetry. My poetry won some awards back in the day, but I never imagined I’d write a novel. In 2022, shortly after I turned 40, I drafted my debut!

Outside of writing, I’m a total bookworm and read every day. I also love drawing and painting, and I play guitar and ukulele (albeit poorly). The arts in general are my jam! My mind and heart also love to travel, but due to chronic illness my body isn’t always on board.

Luxe in Between is Book 1 in my completed romantic portal fantasy series, Luxe’s Lullaby Trilogy. The story is full of mythology from all over the world, found family, adventure, banter, and slow burn, why choose romance. Folks who like fantasy and romance enjoy this series, but I’ve also heard from readers who don’t typically like fantasy and/or romance (and/or why choose romance) that they loved these books. And, I’ve been told it’s a great intro to fantasy if you’re new to the genre. While there is open door spice, the why choose romance is VERY slow burn, with most of the spice being in book three.
