Thinking About the Upcoming Year

Hi all (and a special hello to those who recently signed up),

Hopefully you’re enjoying your summer break!

Something that always added to the pleasure of summertime was that it provided the opportunity for some deep reflection and planning for the upcoming school year.

These are things that I always tried to have planned out before even returning to my classroom (click on the links below):

My hope is that reading through these posts will give you a few things to think about as you’re driving across the country, leisurely kicking across the pool or lake, or sitting on the bleachers between innings at your kid’s baseball game.

Oh, and Scarborough’s Reading Rope is always a good reminder of the “what” that needs to be taught as we prepare to teach reading even better than we did the year before.
