Sunday, August 16th
Dear Diary,
Sunday the 16th started out real slow. Hubs brought me breakfast in bed which was sweet of him, and the coffee was strong enough to knock the cobwebs out. I was just laying there scrolling when Rebecca texted me. She’s finally back from Utah after being gone for weeks. Said she needed some normal company after dealing with her family.
Those people are something else. Real strict, the kind that probably think showing ankle is scandalous. Rebecca only started going topless after she moved in next door and saw how I live. Guess it took her a while to break free from all that. She invited me over so I threw on some shorts and headed next door.
We were both out on her patio with our tops off within five minutes. Felt good to just sit there in the sun without worrying about anything. She was telling me about all the nonsense she had to deal with at her parents place. The rules, the judgment, how nobody could just relax. She looked relieved to be back where she could walk around half naked again.
Then Daniel showed up with some friend of his. The kid stopped dead when he saw us sitting there topless. Rebecca just waved like it was nothing, which I guess it is to her now. Daniel’s gotten used to it but his friend looked like he’d never seen tits before. Couldn’t stop staring.
I kinda enjoyed the awkward tension if I’m being honest. Daniel kept sneaking glances at me when he thought nobody was looking. The way he looked at me, I know exactly what he’ll be thinking about later when he’s alone in his room. Can’t blame him really. Rebecca was just chatting away like having two topless moms around was completely normal.
The friend eventually mumbled something about needing to get home. Daniel stuck around a bit longer though, helping his mom with some stuff around the house. Kept finding excuses to come back out to the patio. I didn’t mind. Nice to know someone appreciates the view.
Ended up staying over there for a couple hours just talking and soaking up the sun. Felt good to catch up with her after she’d been gone so long. Sometimes you forget how different some families can be until you hear about it.
