Good morning chess players, hope you had a great Memorial Day. We’re back for another week of chess.
In lieu of a full article, This newsletter will serve as a double reminder for the newer changes at the club and beyond. First up, tonight’s Club Blitz will feature a similar two section structure as we tested in the Club Rapid at the start of the month. With this change, we’re also proud to announce our first 15|10 Premiere next week 6/2. Join us for three rounds of longer rapid for better thought.
Reminder! Tonight is the monthly Club Blitz Tournament at Nook! Join us 7pm for seven rounds of 5|2 blitz Swiss, $20 with prizes for all skill levels.
Our second bit of news from the outside comes from our friend’s at North Brooklyn Chess, now rebranding the club as Bad Bishop, who will remain playing chess every Thursday at Common Mollies. But they’ve lost their outreach with a new page change, so please send a follow Bad Bishop Chess Club on Instagram if you can!
Club Night last week was a massive success, with friendly faces, returning smiles and our dear friend Nick Marino who is set to be married this summer! We’ve watched him grow so much over the years I could cry.
