Please help my family

Hello. I’m up really early in the morning. Various dismaying things have happened. One of them is that the appeal has stalled. I’m not sure why. Is it because people who don’t know what happens in a hurricane have just forgotten, now that the media has vanished?

This would be my first guess. When I endured Harvey along with ten million other Texans, we were in the headlines, then in the first couple of pages, then nowhere…and that cycle took about a week. But what happens the week after, and the week after, and the week after that is really, really what people who suffer through a hurricane remember.

One of those things is the feeling of desolation that no one is remembering them, despite losing their homes, their jobs, their money, their health, their loved ones.

I started this appeal centered around my mom in law, Carol, to whom I owe my life. I really do. There’s no way I’d be able to cope without her. She has changed my life.

I thought, if I can help Carol, she will know how to get funds to others in her community and in her family who desperately need it. It’s hard to imagine.

One of the problems with Jamaica is that everything is TWICE as expensive as it is here in the USA. If you buy a car in Jamaica, you have to pay for that car twice over. My brother in law just lost his car, he doesn’t even know where it is.

There’s still no power or water. I can’t imagine how disgusting and demoralizing that is.

Please can you help, and if you can’t, please can you share this? I am getting a bit frantic here. I would be so grateful.
