There is a software engineering method used for debugging: rubber duck debugging. It basically depends on putting a rubber duck or any toy or item to in front of you, and explaining the problem to it. Almost every time while you are trying to explain the problem and putting it into words, you also figure out what it lays upon, and the solution shines in your brain instantly. This is very interesting experiment for us to understand how human brain works, and how we do such effective things in our social life not even noticing the impact. I use this method also in my brainstorm sessions. Almost every day, I meet up with my friends after work to talk. Most of the time the people I meet have no profession in any aspects of what I do, not coding or not designing in any way. Yet it has great effects on my idea pipeline since I have started in a routine. I can definitely put these conversations to the top of the list that I really miss on these quarantine days. It can sound ridiculous but if you haven’t heard of this already, just give it a shot. For any problem you have in your mind, from the hardest one to the simplest one, independent of profession it needs, just try to explain it to something or someone that has no idea what you talk about.
Until tomorrow, stay safe!
