There was a tweet that Rami Ismail of Vlambeer talked about his experience with being 50% of Vlambeer, and how everything works, especially when they start to collaborate with other creative people for their ambitious projects. It was basically saying that, the crucial moment was admitting letting go of control in some areas that they work with the professionals. Like in sound design, or additional art, when they hired professionals, it’s necessity to letting them decide, and you should learn to trust in their decisions. Steve Jobs has a famous quote also, many of you probably have stumbled upon, saying that:
“It doesn't make sense to hire smart people and tell them what to do; we hire smart people so they can tell us what to do.” - Steve Job
Being control freak is common, if you are used to working alone. But at sometimes every one of us needs to welcome some more crew aboard. And before that happens, be sure that you are totally willing and ready to let it go.
