Lumine Group (CA:LMN) is a Canadian vertical-market software company spun out of Constellation Software (CA:CSU) in early 2023. Based in Toronto and led by CEO David Nyland, Lumine specializes in acquiring and operating communications and media software businesses — niche platforms that serve mission-critical workflows across broadband, telecom, broadcasting, and digital content delivery.
Think of Lumine as a mini-Constellation focused on one vertical. The company acquires small to mid-sized software firms, integrates them lightly, and lets them operate autonomously under a disciplined framework emphasizing recurring revenue, profitability, and strong returns on capital.
Since inception, Lumine has acquired over 30 companies across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, giving it a portfolio of businesses supporting everything from cable billing systems to digital media asset management. It now employs more than 2,500 people globally and generates over $1 billion in annualized revenue — nearly all of it recurring. I hold a core position in my portfolio that I entered in late 2023.
