Build Philly Now, Jon Geeting · Build Philly Now

This Friday, we’re pleased to welcome three Center City District staff members — Andrew Jacobs, Jimmy Salfiti, and Giavana Pruiti — to talk about CCD’s Open Streets program, and what kind of foot traffic, business sales, and other economic development metrics they’ve been capturing at these events.

Thanks to our friends at Econsult Solutions for offering us their conference room this Friday, May 15th. Their office is at 1435 Walnut St, 4th floor, and we’ll be meeting from 12-1:30pm. We’ll have Primo’s hoagies for guests.

RSVP so we can plan for lunch

As someone who was involved in the rag-tag campaign to create a Philly open streets event series after the Pope visit in 2015, I have a special place in my heart for this issue, and have been pleased to see CCD iterating on a version of the program that’s more in the “neighborhood block party” category than the parade category like Philly Free Streets. We’ll spend some time talkking about what may be possible for dragging-and-dropping this type of event into other neighborhood commercial corridors, and what the challenges are for that.

Fill out the Google form link to RSVP, and subscribe to our Substack to get notified about upcoming events.
