Hey IRL Fam 👋
This month’s newsletter is packed. Part spooky 🎃, part sparkly ✨, and a little bit chaotic (the good kind).
Last month we kicked off 🚀 SF IRL Challenge: Clubsplosion 2025.
And wow, SF... you did not disappoint. More below 👀
In this edition:
🚀 Clubsplosion update: new clubs brewing in SF
🌆 Dream-a-Club Party @ SF’s first Good Neighbor Week
🎃 Is Halloween secretly the most neighborly holiday ever?
Last month, we threw down a challenge: how many new clubs can we launch before New Year’s? Our promise: we’d help make it happen. From start to finish.
And wow. So many hands shot up.
We kicked off a month of club-scheming workshops, idea jams, and brainstorms with a brand-new crew of local builders. Yes, online... to plan more IRL 😅.
SF is buzzing with the first sparks of Clubsplosion 💥
To keep the momentum rolling, we hosted a Dream-a-Club Party during SF’s first-ever Good Neighbor Week 🎉.
A room full of curious humans, doodling, laughing, and dreaming up SF clubs 🌆✨
Some fav ideas:
🎬 Movie Night Mob,
🍳 Wannabe Real Chef Club,
🏄♀️ Paddle Boarding Posse,
🎲 Poker Collective
A big shoutout to Julia Gitis for bringing SF’s first-ever Good Neighbor Week to life 🙌. A reminder that a single person’s initiative can spark real change.
🔥Hot take: Halloween might secretly be the most community holiday ever.
Think about it: you literally walk up to strangers’ doors, unannounced, wearing something ridiculous 🤡🦖... and they reward you with candy.
No RSVP. No agenda. Just good humor and open doors.
It’s the one night a year where everyone collectively agrees to suspend awkwardness and say, “Sure, come on in!” or “Yeah, I’ll knock on a stranger’s door” 👋.
For one night, the neighborhood becomes a club 🏘️ - costumes are the membership cards, and everyone’s invited ❤️.
Also spooky-cool realization: Build IRL’s brand colors = Halloween colors🎃. Totally unplanned. And apparently the Trader Joe’s Halloween totes - same color palette 👀.
Fun fact: These little Trader Joe’s totes went viral in Japan as a symbol of “American casual.” Proof that community symbols aren’t designed - they emerge when people make them their own and give them meaning ✨
At my house, we’re deep in costume negotiations 🦖🚀: my 3-year-old wants to be a dinosaur astronaut (honestly, genius concept).
Who are you this Halloween? 🎃👻🕸️
As we roll into the season 🍂, keep gathering, keep knocking, keep saying, “come on in!”
Ask yourself: What club do you wish to be a part of? Join it. Or maybe … build it in 2026 👀💡
We’re here to help. Just 3 simple steps:
1️⃣ Tell us your idea: who you gather, what you do together, how often you’ll hang.
2️⃣ Rally locals: to join the new club & chip in. Goal met → club is real.
3️⃣ Gather regularly: meet again, make friends, support local spots 🧡
Let’s keep building IRL.
Build! Build! Build!
