Hey BuidlGuidl - it’s time for the first newsletter of 2025! 🚀

As we evolve, we’re taking things up a notch this year—a new structure to keep projects moving smoothly, focus our energy on valuable work, and continue tinkering.

BG has always been a tinkerer’s playground—remote, async, and free-spirited. But as we look ahead, we’re thinking about how to keep that hacker energy while also making things more intentional and structured.

Instead of going full corporate mode, we’ll have a lightweight structure to make it easier to launch & sustain projects. The idea:

🔹 Owners lead projects, Builders bring them to life, Mercs hop in when needed.
→ Owners are the ones responsible for a project—they set the direction and make key decisions.
→ Builders are long-term contributors, committed to making things happen.
→ Mercs are casual contributors—they jump in for specific tasks but aren’t as deeply involved.

🔹 The Commune is where ideas get tested before becoming real projects.
→ Think of it as a sandbox—a space to tinker, experiment, and play with new ideas before committing serious time & resources.
→ If something proves valuable, it can graduate into a full BG project.

🔹 More clarity, fewer distractions, while keeping BG fun and functional.

The goal is simple: a smoother, more intentional BG, without losing what makes it special.
