Gameday 122: Pirates attempt to even up series in Marlins against the Marlins

After getting shut out 2-0 on Tuesday, the Pittsburgh Pirates will look to even their three-game series on the road against the Miami Marlins.

Paul Skenes allowed two runs (one earned) over five innings but was lifted after 65 pitches. The pitching performance didn’t matter, as the offense couldn’t solve Eury Perez, who tossed seven shutout innings.

The Pirates managed just four hits and never put a runner in scoring position.

Carmen Mlodzinski will get the start in place of Mitch Keller, who is out for the rest of the season. He allowed five earned runs over three innings pitched the last time he started.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 pm ET.
