When it comes to Florida State League pitching, no one has more strikeouts than left-hander Reinold Navarro. Digging through the Pirates’ farm system, here is the list of players with more strikeouts than Navarro this season:
Seth Hernandez.
End of list.
With Hernandez likely out for the rest of the season, Navarro has the inside track to leading the Pirates organization in strikeouts. It comes as little surprise to those who have seen him pitch that he’s among the league and organization leaders in the category.
Among those, Marauders’ manager, Gera Alvarez, who I spoke to while I was in Bradenton earlier this year.
