One day... maybe...

I earn the vast majority of my family's income by photographing other families.

I used to shoot weddings too, but to be honest, the weekends when I wanted to spend time with family in summer were full of hanging out with other families. That wasn't a bad thing; I loved 99% of my wedding clients and enjoyed the days I spent with them all. It’s just that Summer has a vibe. It’s a good time to be with your own family.

And now I’m at the place where I don’t take many photos of my own family. I didn’t give up. It just got hard. A teenager who doesn’t want to be photographed and an ASD kid who only likes doing silly things to be photographed. That's him, but I also want to take photos of him just being himself, too.

So it’s rare I get photos of them. Allllllll the moods have to align, and then typically it has to be done on the sly, long lenses while he’s doing stuff.
