Be Careful Who You Vote For

This photo, which I take to be of ACT Deputy Leader Nicole McKee, appears on the ACT party website.

I cannot tell from the photo the make and model the weapon, however under current New Zealand firearms law, for which she is the Minister, it is legal to own a semi-automatic shotgun with a non-detachable tubular magazine capable of holding five cartridges.

Such weapons can fire a shot with each put of the trigger.

Which means that someone intent on mass homicide could shoot 5 people in quick succession before reloading.

Is this really a good law?

Is a hunter’s right to own a semi-automatic gun really greater than the right to life and public safety?

Is McKee really the best person to be the Minister in charge of our firearms laws?

Be careful who who you vote for this election.
