Over the years, I’ve met many practitioners who could describe a powerful experience that changed their understanding of Reiki.

Over the years, I’ve met many practitioners who could describe a powerful experience that changed their understanding of Reiki.

They remember the treatment. The realization. The moment everything suddenly made sense.

What I have found more interesting is what happened afterward.

Did they continue practicing?

Insight is vivid.

Repetition is quiet.

Insight feels transformative.

Repetition feels ordinary.

Insight is easy to remember because it stands out. Repetition is easy to overlook because it looks the same day after day.

Yet insight fades.

Repetition accumulates.

If you rely on insight, your practice fluctuates. Some days feel meaningful. Some do not. Motivation rises and falls with experience.

If you rely on repetition, your practice stabilizes.

You place your hands.

You return to the Precepts.

You continue whether the session feels profound or unremarkable.

Over time, repetition trains response. It shortens reaction. It reduces commentary. It builds familiarity with stillness.

You do not need insight to remain.

You need structure.

This is one reason long-term practitioners often seem less impressed by extraordinary experiences than newer students. They have learned that depth rarely arrives all at once.

It accumulates quietly.

Over time, repetition becomes less dramatic.

More reliable.

This is where depth grows.

Not in peak experiences.

In accumulated steadiness.

If you’ve discovered something similar through practice, you’re welcome to stay.
