Something wicked this way comes

The murder of Charlie Kirk has resulted in vigils, including one I will have attended Sunday at the Kennedy Center, a moving televised speech from his wife that his work will live on and grow, and predictions from many conservatives that as with the death of Andrew Breitbart, a million Kirks will now bloom.

I welcome all of that, but none of it fixes the problem of people like Luigi Mangione or this new 22 year old who murdered Charlie Kirk.

Now that we have a pattern of teens (white male teen boys and trans girl-boys), often from good families, murdering fathers with young kids, we have to ask: are the kids alright?

Or more to the point: why are the kids not alright?

I’d like to channel my fellow Tennessean Tipper Gore, and ask about what music and TV shows they are consuming. But it goes deeper than that.

If enough teens have obvious mental illness with our current institutions - depression, suicide, mutilation, cutting, transexuality, thinking they are gay or bi in strangely larger numbers than has been usual, drug abuse - maybe we need to end current institutions.

It doesn’t help that for kids whose families can only afford government schools, 26% of their classmates are going to be immigrants or children of immigrants. Often from less civilized countries. (I work in these schools in northern Virginia so don’t claim I don’t see what I’ve seen. The kids stabbing each other in the stair well or calling each other and their teachers “nigger” aren’t suburban white kids. Or Asian. Or suburban black kids in most cases. They are Latin immigrant kids.)

Solutions?

No more mandatory school attendance.

No more government managed schooling.

No more labor laws preventing teenagers from working full-time.

If being "free" to be supported and entertained and warehoused by either parents or governments leads to violent acting out, self-abuse, delusions, destructive hobbies, then end the coddling. Let the kids have to support themselves, in the military or restaurants, or farms, or whatever work they can get. Then when they are more mature they can pick up their education again, under programs of instruction under their control, not the government's. Public schools, like colleges, have become centers of Marx/Marcuse etc. hate inculcaton, often subtle, where kids or taught to hate themselves and each other, and that only accepting a victim status and getting into good trouble as the “social justice” teachers call it, is what one should do.

We now know college alone can take a fairly normal kid from a normal and loving family and turn them into a leftist killer. It may help if the kid is not heterosexual (male/white/beautiful/extroverted/charismatic etc.) and is appealed to at college by people telling him he is the victim of white heteronormative patriarchy. If your kid is gay (or perhaps some type of neurodivergent kid) you must make it clear you still love them and have some kind of (perhaps edited or altered) high expectations for them, where they must also perform, achieve, fit into society, find happiness, have a family, etc. even if it is in their own way. We must also defund toxic college institutions.

But let’s not neglect Tipper’s concerns either.

It's interesting how many delusional hobbies, fads, and fantasies overlap. Many of these hobbies start when young, with teens or in college, I think particularly among girls (and gay boys).

A significant portion of people under the delusion they are really the other gender seem to be into "furrie" larping, like the trans boyfriend of the kid who just murdered Charlie Kirk.

I think a disproportionate share are also into wicca and the occult.

Apparently any break with reality can be a port in their storm. I'm re-watching one of the two shows (the other ironically entitled Stranger Things) that got me to subscribe to Netflix 7 years ago, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. (A Satanic marketing plot?)

In the first episode Sabrina's nonbinary friend has her top pulled up by the football players, who want to "see" if she is a boy or a girl. Teen witch Sabrina starts casting spells to punish them. But she also starts a high school feminist group, "Women's Intersectional Creative and Cultural Alliance," i.e. WICCA. Perhaps you should be closer to my age to be allowed to watch this show. Perhaps Netflix needs the same ID verification some states have now imposed on PornHub.
