The Mystic Protection Program

We ask for rest today, and quietness unshaken by the world’s appearances. We ask for peace and stillness, in the midst of all the turmoil born of clashing dreams. We ask for safety and for happiness, although we seem to look on danger and on sorrow. And we have the thought that will answer our asking with what we request.
“I rest in God.” This thought will bring to you the rest and quiet, peace and stillness, and the safety and the happiness you seek. “I rest in God.” This thought has power to wake the sleeping truth in you, whose vision sees beyond appearances to that same truth in everyone and everything there is. Here is the end of suffering for all the world, and everyone who ever came and yet will come to linger for a while. Here is the thought in which the Son of God is born again, to recognize himself.
“I rest in God.” Completely undismayed, this thought will carry you through storms and strife, past misery and pain, past loss and death, and onward to the certainty of God. There is no suffering it cannot heal. There is no problem that it cannot solve. And no appearance but will turn to truth before the eyes of you who rest in God.
This is the day of peace. You rest in God, and while the world is torn by winds of hate your rest remains completely undisturbed. Yours is the rest of truth. Appearances cannot intrude on you. You call to all to join you in your rest, and they will hear and come to you because you rest in God. They will not hear another voice than yours because you gave your voice to God, and now you rest in Him and let Him speak through you. - A Course in Miracles, Lesson 109

If you click on the image above it will take you to my updated website. I wanted it to be a reminder that in the midst of all the storms of life, we can remember that our house is built on rock and not on sand and that the Light is always there to guide us through our fears.

The Spiritual Truth is like a Lighthouse that we can keep our inner-vision on to stop us from crashing on the rocks of appearances when things get crazy. We are all of it. We are the Lighthouse, the rock, the storm, the boat, the captain - there is only the One and there is nothing outside of us.

In the opening meditations of my classes, I often guide us to “the secret place of the Most High” and the “upper room” where we enter “the Mystic Protection Program” by leaving the world of appearances and remembering Who we are. In this place, we rest in God - the Infinite Divine Presence. This is where we “cast our cares” on the Presence and can let go of trying to control, fix, manipulate and all the other fear-based strategies of the ego mind. We “rest in God” and surrender control in exchange for living by Grace.

“Ask to receive, and it is given you.” - A Course in Miracles

Yesterday, I asked Spirit for an answer to an important question I’ve had for some time. I asked for a very specific sign - this is something I have almost never done. And I received the exact sign I’d asked for within a very short period of time. As important as the answer was, it was also a great reminder that Spirit is “closer than breathing, nearer than hands and feet.” We are never separate from our Source and from direct communication with Infinite Intelligence and Love.

Ask and EXPECT an answer. Then, relax and let it go while still PAYING ATTENTION. God is always on the Field. Fear not. Be not afraid. The Universe has not lost your file so you can afford to rest in God as long as you are doing your part of keeping your eyes on the Spiritual Truth. In the meantime, practice radical gratitude and give thanks BEFORE the miracle appears.
