Mad Yoga qualified for sponsorship because of our innovative, creative and philanthropic mission and vision.

By this time next week, our first grant application will be submitted to support the growth of the project. There will also be a donor button added to my website and the Mad Yoga page there.

You can find us at www.MadYogaNetwork.com and www.BrookeWestYoga.com, @MadYogaNetwork and @BrookeWestYoga on Instagram.

The Mad Yoga Network is an emerging, DIY grassroots collaborative of yoga teachers with mental health experience or neurodivergence. Mad Yoga's central offering is free online peer support sessions for mad, mentally ill, neurodivergent, and/or disabled (MMIND) yoga teachers. Many of us are queer artists and makers of all kinds.

Mad Yoga launched in August 2024 through AccessibleYoga's international platform and quickly gained an international following, as peer support for neurodivergent and differently-abled yoga teachers was non-existent. We are filling a need for connection and creating radical change from within the often-toxic yoga culture. We do this creatively, in many ways.

Mad Yoga's network of teachers offer peer-led experiences as part of their free offerings. Systemic change through a creative lens is the heart, arrow and target, aiming to support personal development and creative community connections. While yoga is an art and a science, Mad Yoga offers writing workshops at this time, but we would like to expand and offer regular arts-based activities and research.

If you know of grants that Mad Yoga might apply for, please let us know!

Next week we have two offerings:

💙 Narrative Medicine 101 on Thursday at 5pm PST and

💙 Peer Support on Saturday 11am PST for neurodivergent/mad/MMIND yoga teachers (offered free of charge to yoga teachers).

There is a recording of last Saturday’s Narrative Medicine presentation. Passcode: %yMs6QYV Many thanks to the stellar Niya Bajaj who is facilitating these Narrative Medicine workshops and who has been a key supporter of Mad Yoga since before it existed. She has a lovely Substack - click the link on her name above. Thank you, Niya!

All offerings are free or by donation.

Peer support is an evidence-based intervention for enhancing mental health and reducing suicide. We would like to expand free peer support and other peer led activities, including art and other creative experiences, to any yoga practitioner.

In March we will practice Narrative Medicine for Neurodivergence, writing from prompts, reflecting on our health journeys. All are welcome!

Have a wonderful weekend!
