If you have been following these writings, I am currently on a mission to find out if our current distribution models can be ethically leveraged. Focusing on the creators’ experiences, I am meeting with other filmmakers and seeing what we can create together.

Back in December I learned of a movement here on substack, called NonDe. After sitting in on one of their monthly zoom calls, a voice caught my attention and I had to learn more. What seems like a pretty straight forward concept is layered with nuance and choices that we as consumers and creatives will have to ponder in the coming years.

Last week I got a chance to sit down with that voice, Courtney Romano of Let's Go Again. We talked about the importance of creators being able to connect with their audiences. We also talk about the future of film, and discussed what the future of film could look like. A future non-dependent on studios and corporations. What would happen if we worked together, putting the creator at the center of all decisions? What would happen if we provided creators with access to their data?

Next week I am partnering with composer Oleksandra Shevchenko to bring a film to life based on her autonomous composition. This is a piece that has never been tied to visuals. I’m going to chat to Oleksandra about her process and discuss where we find ideas. Throughout the episode I will also be writing a film from scratch based on the piece. Check out the trailer below!
