Here’s the question I want you to sit with today: when was the last time you wanted something without immediately editing it?
Not wanted something reasonable. Not wanted something that fit neatly into your existing life. Not wanted something small enough that nobody would be inconvenienced by it.
When was the last time you wanted something wild and impractical and possibly selfish and didn’t immediately talk yourself out of it?
I’m guessing it’s been years. Maybe even decades (Lordy… where have we been?).
Because here’s what happens to women’s desires: they get buried. Layer by layer, year by year, under sediment of should and must and can’t and hell’s bells what will people think.
You wanted things once didn’t you? Remember? Big things. Inconvenient things. Things that didn’t make sense. Things that would have required other people to adjust. Things that might have upset the whole careful balance of your life!
