Don't ask people to imagine your design. Show them it.

Asking someone to imagine something is a recipe for failure in startups and product management. Even if you can imagine something clear as day in your mind, and even if someone else is capable of doing the same, you shouldn't risk it.

If you do, you're playing the telephone game. Likely without realizing it.

And that's in the best case. I've found some individuals struggle to visualize designs as they relate to apps or visual assets at all.

Luckily, there is a simple solution.

Bring a mockup. The higher fidelity the more real the response you'll get from the folks you're asking.

Without it the feedback you're getting is illusory at best.
