How do you tell a story? There are three basic ways to do it:
First person. I slowly ran my hands down his body, trying to find what was jutting into my thigh.
Second person. You press harder against her groin, adjusting your position, looking for an entrance, any entrance.
Third person. Carrie’s searching fingers found what she was looking for. “Ouch,” Frank groaned. “Your fingernails …” Adjusting her grip, Carrie whispered, “Sorry, let me kiss that better.”
There are a few wrinkles on these. Notice that my second person example is in the present tense, as if the action is happening right now, told by a narrator who is right there with you, describing the intimate encounter. How weird is that?
