Completing a dormant story

Back in my first days on Medium I began publishing a story about Omaha Beach and D-Day, chapter by chapter.

A complex story, wrapped up in a modern-day reunion tale featuring my character Carrie Watson, I got into a plot hole near the end and set it aside for a few days. Those days turned into weeks, months, years.

I finally found a solution, polished up the existing chapters, and now I’m just a few days away from publishing the whole thing as a novella.

As part of the Amazon process I’ll be removing the original chapters from Medium.

So be advised that this is the last chance to read that version. In particular, the “Milkmaid” chapter has had to be modified a little because I’m advised that it crosses a line that Amazon won’t accept. I don’t think that technically it ventures into that area, but I’ve changed it, just to make sure.
