Happy Substack-aversary to me! Wow, I, an illustrator, have been masquerading as a writer for one whole year now! And Deo gratias, I have been keeping up with this newsletter (and my second one) much better than I had anticipated. A big, high-fiving thank you dear reader for your time (and trouble?) reading my words.
This is a tiny, tiny post to remind you that it is nearly time for St. Michael’s Lent! While not an official Church obligation, it is a beneficial practice, let me tell you. It begins on the Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady and ends on Michaelmas (The Feast of the Archangels). Scroll down to the bottom of my post from last year:

Do any of you have an anti-pants toddler? My 18 month old has become quite against pants. As I write this, talking into my phone, I’ve been chasing her for five minutes in circles, as she giggles and runs away. Alas, she is not potty trained and will not keep her diaper on without pants, so I will eventually have to insist. There will be much squealing …
