Each day, we wake up to a new horror. I have come to recognize these events for what they are: tests of our tolerance and resolve. The Trump Crime Syndicate is dipping its toe into the water, seeing what we, the governed, will allow — a kind of oppressive scaffolding to amass power. So far, we’ll allow anything. That’s because most of us don’t understand that our passivity is creating the context for the regime to thrive. Our collective inaction is pushing America further into authoritarianism.
