What is woman? Why ask? Why not answer?
Well, because the question is complex.
Woman is multitudes. Woman is flesh, bone and blood. Woman is, was and, will continue to be.
Between the covers, written on these pages are the multiple stories of humanity. Humanity that is often denied and rejected, erased and rewritten. In these pages are stories of resistance, persistence and actualisations. Stories of multitudes and ways of being — both prescribed and innate. We celebrate woman not as an idea but as existence, as breath and as flesh — through time and through space.
Taking Back the Streets of Jozi
Temperatures might be dipping, but the sun is out and so are we! Main Street Sundays #WomensDay edition is your chance to meet Jozi at walking pace – notthrough a car window, but up close and vibey away from the traffic and darting taxis. We’re closing off the roads to cars and taking back our streets for the day, and everyone’s invited. Woza, Jozi! Bring the whole group chat, the little ones, ama-2k and even gogo, and make a day of it. With food, art, music, activities, and plenty more for all ages, it’s sure to be a Sunday to remember. It’s time to meet your streets again. Bring a jacket, a chair, and get comfortable, or warm up with some street games. Kuzoba mnandi!
