📞 Hello? Hi. It’s me, Jen Glantz. Welcome to the 1-800-Bridesmaid, by Bridesmaid for Hire. A place where real stories are shared and your best advice is given.

This week: A bride runs into her ex. She considers calling off the wedding to get back with him.

Last week: She thinks the bride cheated. Here’s what you told her to do.

I’m getting married in a few weeks, and out of nowhere, the universe threw me a curveball: I ran into the ex I thought I was completely over.

We dated in our twenties—wild, passionate, addictive, and messy. It ended badly, over a stupid fight about moving in together, and neither of us was willing to swallow our pride. I hadn’t seen him in years… until last week.

It was like no time had passed. We talked for hours about how much we’ve both grown. He admitted he still thinks about me, that he regrets letting me go, that he’s never stopped loving me. He didn’t try to sabotage my wedding—he just left me with those words and walked away.

Now I can’t get him out of my head. My fiancé is a good man—steady, kind, the safe choice. But when I’m with him, I don’t feel that spark I had with my ex. With my ex, I felt alive. With my fiancé, I feel… secure. And I can’t help wondering: is this what marriage is supposed to feel like?

It feels almost cruel, like the universe dangled this in front of me right before the wedding—like it’s testing me. Is it just cold feet? Nostalgia tricking me into rewriting history? Or is it a sign that I’m about to marry the wrong person?

She’s on this week’s episode of 1-800-Bridesmaid sharing her advice on what Ashley should do.

  • My goal in 2025 was to read 30 books and I’m almost there! Here are all the books i’ve read so far. I highlighted the ones in pink that I absolutely adored and were so unforgettable.

  • Also! I had a book come out this year. I’m really proud of the book and hope you’ll consider grabbing a copy to take with you into the new year.

  • My favorite song of the year.

  • This blanket has seriously been the best part of these cold months. I have one on the couch and one on my bed and it’s the coziest thing ever. I want to gift this to every single person I know who has to plow through the winter.

  • I love the ways these look and they are so much fun to play. We have about five of them and it’s the perfect gift for someone who likes to play games.

  • Also been living in this very cozy set from the gap. I wear this top with leggings and also with these matching pants.

  • A really awesome wedding planning app that makes you feel like you have a wedding planner in your pocket!
