I Made PR Boxes to Promote My Substack

One of the best parts of this corner of the internet is the recommendations that feel like they’re being shared between friends, the sense of community around a shared love for quality over quantity, and the commitment to a slower, analog way of existing.

I wanted to take that feeling, coupled with the curatorial expertise of The Mood Board, and create little PR boxes that shared what my Substack is all about in the physical form. I had this lingering idea in the back of my head for about a year before I decided to actually do it. I hadn’t seen anyone doing it for Substack. But I knew that I could, and that I very much wanted to.

So I began piecing together the PR boxes of my dreams, all centered around taking time to be creative and journal, with items that I would genuinely love to receive and love to give as gifts even more, all tied back to The Mood Board as a go-to space for creativity, inspiration, and curation.

Dona Tea Library: What better way to settle into your journaling practice than with a delicious cup of tea? From the minute I laid eyes on this stunning tea library, I knew it would be a key part of this package.

Element Brooklyn Campfire Stereo Candle: I love the ritual of burning a candle when I’m journaling, and this was the perfect fit. It smells so good, a perfect blend pepper, clove, Gaïac wood, chestnut, vanilla, and cashmeran for a cozy evening.

Custom Papier Spiral Notebook: I’ve been a Papier fan for years, so it was a given that they would be the notebooks in these journaling-centric boxes. I love that Papier lets you customize their notebooks with text, so I had them each say “The Mood Board.” Dreamy!

Stellar Snacks Pretzels: Of course, a little snacky snack is imperative for a good journaling session, so I tapped one of my favorite snack brands for some pretzels to include. So yummy.

Le Pen Fine Tip Pens: These are my favorite pens. They’re just so good. It was a given that I needed to include them for a journaling PR box. And what everyone who received a box might not know is I picked the colors for each of them based off the colors I was feeling for their energy. :)

The Mood Board Matchbooks: I made the cutest little custom matchbooks so folks could light their candles and think of The Mood Board every time they do.

Handwritten Note: Every box came with a handwritten note from me on custom notecards designed by the talented and whimsical Olivia Lombardi.
