Have you ever enjoyed having a right good whinge with somebody? Maybe with a colleague about work, or with a mate about somebody yous both hate?
It feels good. But have you ever reached a stage where you’re not up for it anymore? Even if you were the one that kickstarted the whinging, you might reach a point when you’ve had enough. Could be a few days, could be a few years. But eventually you’re all whinged out, and you don’t want to hear it anymore.
But your colleague is still at it. Every day. Sharing another complaint with you, another moan. And you get it, you understand, you agree, you feel the same way.
But for fuck’s sake.
Well, that’s how I felt about Pluribus.
I liked it, I liked Pluribus, honestly. I get it. I’m not daft, I’m actually really deep. Imagine a world of peace, unity and love, but with the one catch being that you don’t have a choice. It really makes you think, etc.
And I get why Carol hates it. I’d probably be the same.
But at some point, something’s got to change, and I didn’t feel like much was changing. Aye, there was the thing where they all fucked off and she actually missed them and wanted them back. And other things. But… I don’t know. I just imagine more of the same in the next series. More whinging, more “You gotta be fucking kidding me”. I just don’t know how they’re going wring more out of the idea, other than by making more of those padding episodes where nothing happens until the last 30 seconds.
Here, now it’s me that’s whinging!
What a twist!
